Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you get your materials?

I source fabrics, clothing items to dissect, and factory surplus materials from many places. All pieces are made from materials that have been donated or would otherwise be destined for the trash.

Metal hardware is the one exception. I use secondhand pieces when I find them, but for consistency and quality's sake the majority of my pieces buckle together with new solid brass hardware.

What does "Made to Order" mean?

Made to Order means I am making an item specifically for you!

Working in a one-of-one model, it is impossible to know who will want to purchase a piece in a specific size, pattern, or color. In an effort to mitigate wasted material and time spent to produce these pieces, I offer Made to Order. These will be posted as a product mock up with photos of the fabrics and similar completed pieces. It is imperative that you select your correct size from charts provided when ordering these items.

There is a lead time of up to 8 weeks on Made to Order pieces.

What is your return policy?

In general, I do not accept returns. I provide all measurements in my product listings, as well as pictures that represent each piece true to life. I urge everyone to be thoughtful and considered in their clothing purchases.

That being said, if you are unhappy or have an issue with something you have purchased, please contact me through the below form and I will be happy to see what I can do!

Do you take custom requests?

I do!

But my capacity for them is not huge.

That being said, if you have an idea (personal or commercial) that you'd like to chat about please fill out the contact form and I will get back to you!

How do I care for my item?

Dolly Tops -

Hand Wash Cold or Machine Wash Cold Delicate Cycle in a lingerie bag with a light detergent. If your top has colorful doilies in it I strongly encourage hand washing. I prewash them all, but this can help prevent color bleeding.

Deedee Kilts and Chore Coats -

If your piece has leather, it will need to be dry cleaned. Do not put these pieces in your washing machine.

I work with mostly natural fibers that do best without frequent laundering. Spot cleaning with a light detergent as needed and airing out your piece after wear is enough to keep it looking and feeling beautiful.

Do you offer repairs?

I build my pieces to last, but life happens! I offer lifetime repairs on all of my garments. These repairs are free of charge, but associated shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
